You don’t want the marketing version. You want the real version—the actual details, the fine print, the things that come up after you install it, and the questions you didn’t even know to ask yet.
This is that page.
Whether you’re ready to buy or just starting to research, you don’t need to hunt around this site to get answers—it’s all right here. Everything you need to know about how the Everbright works, how it gets installed, what it costs, how to take care of it, and whether it’s right for your space.
1. What Is the Everbright?
The Everbright is an interactive light wall made of hundreds of dials that change colors when you turn them. Think the Lite-Brite of your childhood, but with hundreds of analog dials and no removable parts.
This tactile, screen-free creative experience invites people of all ages and abilities to create, play, and collaborate. It’s designed for public spaces—museums, libraries, sensory rooms, children’s areas—anywhere people gather and need something captivating, calming, and endlessly engaging.
Each dial is a pixel of light. When you turn a dial, the color changes. Keep turning to rotate through a spectrum of hundreds of colors. It’s so satisfying to just stand there, watching the colors change.
Unlike the giant Lite-Brite, there are no removable parts to set up or pick up. Creativity is instantly accessible to up to 20 visitors at once. The entire canvas resets itself after a few minutes of inactivity—or at the touch of a button. It can also become a light show display when not in use, running animations and patterns.
No screens. No parts to lose. No software to update.
Just tactile, kinetic play—powered by human hands and the human instinct to create.
Up to 20 visitors can get lost in the moment together.
Like this baby using his fat little fingers to balance while the other hand manipulates a color dial. This 5-year-old stepping back from her geometric horse to neighhhhh triumphantly. This woman in a wheelchair creating with her hands despite limited mobility. This boy finding a sense of calm by slowly controlling a color-changing dial. These are moments the Everbright was designed to induce, from 9 months to 90 years old.
The vibrant colors remain bright, even in spaces with abundant natural sunlight.
2. Who Is the Everbright For?
The Everbright was designed for public spaces where people gather, wait, or wander.
Places like:
Pediatric Practices, Playrooms and Waiting Rooms
Libraries, Early Childhood Spaces and Teen Areas
Sensory Rooms and Calming Areas
Children’s Hospitals
Universities
Museums
Innovation Centers and Modern Creative Workspaces
It’s for people who believe in design, play, and creative interaction.
3. Why People Choose the Everbright
Because mirror neurons are real—and they’re why your space will never feel empty again.
People attract people. When someone sees another person creating, they want to create, too. That ripple effect is built into how we’re wired. It’s why strangers gather around The Everbright without needing instructions. The community of creators becomes the main attraction.
The Everbright doesn’t rely on rules, instructions, or competition. It draws people in naturally. It sparks creativity, connection, and curiosity without anyone having to explain how it works.
You can’t “age out” of it. You can’t lose interest after five minutes—or even five visits. It’s magnetic, timeless, and always changing. No one has to wait their turn.
Unlike many tactile exhibits for open-ended creativity, The Everbright is the only screen-free exhibit with no removable parts. It’s a permanent, architectural-quality public installation made up of hundreds of physical dials that can’t be removed, lost, or broken.
Unlike traditional Lite-Brite experiences, where visitors have to wait for pegs, clean up the last person’s creation, and start fresh, The Everbright makes creativity instantly accessible to up to 20 visitors at once (for our largest standard size, the Everbright Classic).
4. What Makes the Everbright Different?
TL;DR: Your space becomes wildly popular. Babies network, seniors reconnect, teens collaborate on elaborate patterns, moms do some excellent color gradient work.
The Everbright isn’t a screen. It isn’t a game. It isn’t a passive art piece. It’s a tactile, human-scale canvas for open-ended creativity.
Most exhibits and installations fall into two traps:
They get old fast. People try them once, snap a photo, and move on.
They exclude people. Too complicated, too competitive, too passive, too age-specific.
The Everbright was designed to solve both problems:
It never gets old. People come back to it again and again, because there’s always something new to create.
It works for everyone. Kids, adults, elders, people with disabilities. No instructions needed.
It’s a permanent feature that never becomes outdated or obsolete.
It’s the most crowd-pleasing thing in the room without being chaotic or over-stimulating.
And it’s built like a tank—so it keeps working without headaches.
There’s nothing else like it. Here’s why:
No screens. No touchscreens. No LEDs behind glass. The Everbright is made of physical dials you turn with your hands.
Nothing to lose. Nothing to break. No removable parts. No consumables. No software updates.
Open-ended play. There are no instructions. No way to win. No way to lose. Just light, color, and interaction.
Built for public spaces. It’s not fragile. It’s not techy. It’s a permanent, architectural-quality installation designed for high-traffic use.
It doesn’t look dirty. The textured acrylic surface is naturally fingerprint-resistant. Even in hospital environments, it doesn’t show grime the way screens do.
No consumables. No software subscriptions. Once it’s installed, you’re done. There’s nothing to replace, reload, or update.
Architectural-quality materials. It’s not fragile. It’s not trendy tech. It’s a permanent installation built to last.
Always engaging. You control what visitors see when no one is interacting with it—whether that’s a blank canvas, your saved feature design, or an animation display. It’s always ready to spark creativity.
5. Common Questions & Answers
About the Product
How big is it? The Everbright comes in a range of sizes—from smaller wall-mounted installations perfect for early childhood spaces, to custom large-scale public installations designed to stop people in their tracks. See all available sizes and dimensions—and explore custom options.
How much does it weigh? Anywhere from 120 lbs to over 165 lbs, depending on the size. It’s heavy because it’s solid. It’s not a flimsy piece of tech. It’s a permanent, architectural-quality installation.
Can I get it in white or other colors? You can customize the colors of your wall, mounting surface, and other exterior finishes to make it pop, but the dials and the frame will always be a rich, velvety matte black that looks great in any environment. The dials change a vibrant color even in natural light, and they are able to do this because they are black. Read more about the Materials.
Is it ADA accessible? Yes. We offer mounting options and sizes that comply with ADA accessibility guidelines. Read about Accessibility.
What’s the maintenance like? Minimal. There are no consumables, no software, no moving parts to replace. You’ll clean the surface occasionally, dust the top, and check that it’s powered off daily—that’s about it. Read about Durability and Cleaning.
How long does it last? Years. The Everbrights that have been shipping out since 2018 have now been installed for 7+ years in high-traffic environments with no mechanical failures and minimal need for replacement pixels. Read more about durability and warranty.
What happens if no one is using it? You get to decide. Most spaces want to display dynamically generated, preset light shows. You can adjust brightness, speed, color palette, and save your own designs that you created on the Everbright. It’s not an open-source programming platform, and it’s not designed for third-party animation uploads. See what you can do with the tablet.
Can it be programmed? No. That’s intentional. The Everbright is not a screen, not a game, and not a programmable experience. It’s open-ended and tactile, designed for human interaction without digital interference. Read more about why we designed it this way.
Can the tablet control the power? No. The tablet is for brightness and calibration only. Read more about the tablet.
How is it mounted? The Everbright mounts directly to a flat, sturdy wall using a supplied French cleat system. You will need professional installation. See installation details.
How high should we mount it? Get clear, specific recommendations based on your space and the people you serve. → Mounting Height Recommendations
Where should we install it? The Everbright works best in open, visible, high-traffic areas where people gather, wait, or pass through. → See real-world installations.
Can it go on a curved wall? No. Under no circumstances can The Everbright be mounted to a curved wall. It’s a precision-built, rigid panel.
How much space do I need? That depends on the size you choose, but as a rule, you’ll want clear access to the front, about 6 inches of clearance on the top and bottom, and enough room for people to gather and interact. See installation details and requirements.
Does it require an electrician? Most likely. The Everbright needs a dedicated power source and you don’t want the cord to be visible, so you should mount it where there’s an outlet and the plug is not visible. You’ll also need a separate power switch, because the Everbright needs to be powered off daily, and it doesn’t ship with a power switch. As an alternative, you can install a timer at the level of the circuit and program this timer based on your schedule.
Can it be moved after installation? Technically, yes—but it’s not designed to be portable. Moving it will require professional de-installation and reinstallation. (Any two people who can lift half of its weight steadily and safely are qualified—and you’ll need to remove the cleat and secure it to the new wall with the appropriate hardware.)
About Usage & Safety
Can kids use it? Yes! It was designed with unsupervised packs of 11-year-olds on field trips in mind. Children, adults, elders—everyone can engage.
Is it ADA accessible? Yes. We offer sizes and mounting heights that meet ADA accessibility guidelines. See Accessibility.
Does it get dirty? The textured acrylic surface naturally resists fingerprints and smudges. You can use Sani-Cloth wipes to meet hospital infection control standards, but it never looks visibly dirty.
How do you clean it? We’ve tested multiple cleaning methods and recommend using Sani-Cloth Plus wipes or mild soap and water on a black microfiber cloth. → Read more about cleaning.
Who has installed this, and what do they say about it?Public spaces across North America and beyond—from pediatric practices to libraries, museums, children’s hospitals, to innovation centers, sensory rooms, and more. → See real-world installations.
What if it’s left powered on too long? Plan to power it off every day. If you don’t, the memory card could get corrupted. It’s also best for the power supplies if you power it off when the building is not in use. Read more.
Do I need Wi-Fi to use it? No. The Everbright does not require Wi-Fi or internet access to function.
