Bring the Space to Life (Behind Your Own Team’s Back)
Museums thrive on interaction. But not every exhibit can be staffed, supervised, or reset after each use.
That’s where the Everbright stands apart.
It’s a screen-free, self-resetting interactive experience designed for open-ended creativity—without requiring oversight.
Compare the Options for Interactive Features
When staff capacity is limited and every square foot needs to serve a purpose, you need features that are intuitive, inclusive, and durable—so you can extend the visit and support visitor flow (without wait lists). The Everbright does all of that—and more. Here’s how it compares to other interactive features:

Here is what museums and exhibits teams love about the Everbright:
Seed patterns designed to inspire creativity. Scientists have observed that constraints and templates allow people to produce more novel and useful ideas. The Everbright has built-in templates for creativity called “seed patterns,” in which a dynamically generated abstract animation slowly moves across the board, inspiring visitors to interrupt and make it their own.
Inclusive for all ages and abilities. The Everbright is beloved by families and is particularly suitable for children on the spectrum and those with special needs. (Read more about Accessibility.) A rugged exterior resists fingerprints and always looks polished, while it can be easily cleaned and wiped free of germs with any acrylic-safe disinfectant. Soap and water work, too. (Read about Cleaning.)
Minimize maintenance with a durable design and no removable parts. The Everbright’s modular design limits most problems to just the affected pixel. Precision-molded components have been deployed in all the parts that matter to exhibit maintenance teams. A thick, high-quality lens and mysteriously matte surface maintain a polished look, even after years of use.
Programmable to erase itself throughout the day. No need for a staff member to constantly hit the erase button. The Everbright can be programmed to automatically erase itself after an interval of inactivity that you can pre-set. Clear after 1 minute, 10 minutes, or 60 minutes.
Endlessly theme-able. The Everbright can be customized with exclusive interactions. When a visitor turns a dial, they might produce a ripple effect. Or reveal an underlying pattern. One tablet lets exhibit teams rule them all (with some assistance from our developers). Wirelessly configure your board to meet the unique requirements of your space. Think of your Everbright as a platform of creativity whose interactions are unlimited. Dials twist to unlock ever-changing creative possibilities.
Straightforward installation. Many options are available to fit your space, from a self-contained wall-mounted edition to a series of interconnected panels that nestle into an opening created in the wall. The standard Everbright is ready to use. Just plug it in. It is self-contained and does not require access to Wifi or data connections.
Reverse engineering a memorable visit:
Step 1:
This little artist kept having multiple experiences with Everbright throughout the day. At first she was just drawn in by the dials and the act of turning them.
Step 2: Then she realized she could make patterns.
Step 3: Notice her step back? This is one of the signs of high engagement, and it’s the mark of a display with a long linger factor.
Step 4: As this girl returns to create something specific, she bridges the world of concrete creativity with that of the imagination.
Step 5: The Everbright develops spatial intelligence and visual planning skills. First, you need to imagine what you want to create. Then you need to make it appear on the board, which requires some planning because of the dials’ abstract hexagonal packing. The Everbright is engaging some very high-level functions in the brain. Users must step back to see the larger pattern, then compare their real-world design with the one in their imagination.
Step 6: The mind wants to find the patterns, the larger meaning. Even the smallest and most subtle pattern takes on a new meaning. These diagonal shapes are legs. More specifically, they are the legs of a horse.
Step 7: How do we know this? Because she steps back again, fine-tuning, comparing the image in her mind to the one before her. She can’t resist acting out what she has just imagined and then created. She throws back her head and becomes the horse. “Neighhhhhhh, giddyup!”
Step 8: She returns to put the finishing touches on her creation.
The Artist Formerly Known as Dad.
“We love, love, love our Everbright. 90% of the people in our space just love to stand there watching the colors change & feeling the dials turn.”
